Although it is a winning slimming system The Atkins Diet will not be for everyone.

So it can be said that The Atkins Diet does solve a slimming issue. people who want to lose weight embark on the Atkins journey and in most cases lose weight. A six month diet can produce amazing results, however in nearly all cases those that have lost weight tend to put it straight back on when the diet stops. As the Atkins Diet is not recommended to be practised permenantly the yoyo effect seems to happen.

The diet mainly consists of the principle of eating fatty foods and proteins (steak, eggs etc) but not carbohydrates (potatoes etc) Our bodies will naturally lose weight by burning stored body fat more effeciently.

Why The Atkins Diet May Fail

woman on scalesAs we have discovered The Atkins Diet involves a dramatic reduction in carbohydrates and no limit to the amount of fatty foods and proteins it appears to relatively easy to follow. But one of the major concerns for the medical profession is the effect it could have on our bodies if we are denied essential nutrition. We could end up with other various health problems aprt from just being over weight.

Secondly, the fact that people can eat basically what they want, causes many people to fail to lose any weight at all because they are still eating extremely unhealthy and high fat foods. Fat is by far one of the main foodstuffs that you need to cut down on if you want to lose weight and keep that weight off so obviously eating really fatty foods will not help you to lose that extra weight.

In summary, although The Atkins Diet is famous the world over it is far from the best. It can cause dramatic weight loss but not one that is beneficial to your health. This diet is certainly not sustainable. Choose a different approach. Exercise, a healthy balanced diet and a medically approved supplement.
